After working at a full-service marketing firm for 17 years and then another 9 years in corporate America–I can tell you, everyone wants to make it easier to do business.
Be transparent on pricing
Don’t try and commit to long terms
Stick with the prices you provide
Have fun
Provide unexpected value
Tell stories about real results
We are all people. We have lots of responsibilities–and we all wear our “owners hat.” So when you see a need–fill it. Most businesses are having trouble with recruiting employees. So if we have an idea of how a business might attract employees (alternative groups to target, providing unique solutions to business problems including recruitment, etc) we will bring them to our clients. Even if we aren’t making any money–if we are building relationships and solving problems, then we all win.
